Our new Winnipeg Cloth Diaper Store! Opening October 2010.

The picture above shows the little space that we are moving our online cloth diapering store into. Being an online store works great if you don't have local customers, and just pack and ship cloth diapers, but there are lots of cloth diaper wearing babies in Winnipeg and we are finally going to make life easier for those parents as they will now be able to see all of their favourite cloth diapering products in person. Whoo hoo!

Our first location is going to be at 1853 1/2 Main Street, a few blocks south of Kildonan Park. We are next to Don's Photo, across the street from a Tim Hortons, have lots of parking in front of the store and on the closest side street, and we are close to bus stops.

Right now the store is full of gorgeous organic and vegan soap, lotion, hair products, and baby products as the space has been occupied until now by Di Erbe, a Winnipeg soap company. Di Erbe is moving to 111 Marion, next door to Pasquales, but don't worry as we will be carrying some of their product line in our store. I've tried their organic Mom and Baby Dry Patch lotion so far and I'm in love.

What do we have planned for our sish=Publish Posttore? It's still going to be all about cloth diapers, our favourite and our specialty. We do want to expand the product lines that we carry so that anyone who visits us can find exactly what they need in just one stop. There are so many brands and product lines and sizes and styles of cloth diapers out there now so we are asking our customers for advice. As a Winnipeg parent who cloth diapers their baby or is considering cloth diapering, what products would you like to be able to see in person in Winnipeg. Are there any safe, eco-friendly baby products that you would like but can't find in Winnipeg? Also, what amenities would you hope to find in a little diaper store? Please reply to this post and let us know what we should be ordering in FIRST so we have everything you want when you drop by. The more specific, the better... ie: a Bummis's Easy Fits, FuzziBunz Perfect Size, bumGenius One Size Snaps, Rumparooz Prints, Charlie Banana diapers, etc. We don't want our selection to be overwhelming, but rather to be just right for most parents. As a thank you for your time, everyone who replies to this post with their in-store wish will get a $5.oo www.ClothDiaperMom.com store voucher and one lucky person will will a $50.00 in-store credit. Because the grand prize is in-store only, we are only opening up this one contest to locals only please. Our next contest will be Canada-wide, we promise.

Our contest is open until October 1st, 2010 and our grand-prize winner will be announced October 2nd. We open our doors mid-October. More details coming soon!

As well, if you are a Winnipeg Mom or Dad (even to-be) we are looking for volunteers to be on our Customer Council. You would be asked for your opinions, invited to participate in surveys, occasionally get to sample products, etc. Contact us at customercouncil@clothdiapermom.com if you are willing to part with a tiny bit of your time, from time to time.

  2. Very exciting. I can't wait to see the new store. Baby #2 arrives on the scene in January, and I am hoping to pick up prefolds and covers and have been leaning towards the Bummis kit. It would be great if you carried it!

  3. Ooh, another thought: Will you be expanding your selection of carriers? I have been interested in a mei tai style carrier, and would love to buy one where I can actually try it out, instead of just ordering online and hoping...

  8. Thanks for the brand feedback everyone! We will start adding in new products and lines in one week and are hoping to offer a good selection. Stacey, I’ll check into Baby Bottom Better for sure. I love that it’s Canadian too. Lisa, congrats on Baby #2! We are definitely going to adding Bummis kits. They should be arriving in about 2 weeks. We do plan to expand carriers now that we will have a storefront. Are there any brands that you prefer? Tara, thanks! I will check into Amber teething necklaces. We’ve received info from manufacturers but I still need to do some research. Chelsey, we will be close! I hope this makes diaper shopping easier for everyone.  Tannis, we will be able to expand our Itzy Ritzy selection too! We are sold out of snack bags and need to add more, but we’ll be able to add in stroller liners, car seat covers, and nursing covers.

  9. I would love to see you carry a cloth diaper that my 1 1/2 year old daughter could wear for night - that wouldn't leak, that wouldn't cause her to get red and rashy, and that could handle a LOT of pee...recommendations or ideas of what you will carry in the store for this?!? pamela.koop@gmail.com

  11. Would be nice if a real store existed, with a real telephone number and real customer service, instead of a pretend business person taking people's money on PayPal and not following up with any product nor e-mails after over a month!

  12. Hi Rachel M, we have been really behind this past month and are working hard to get caught up. I will search for your email and will get back to you later today.

    Thanks,

  13. I agree with the previous commenter. I made a purchase if several hundred dollars online almost 3 weeks ago and the merchandise has still not been shippe to my Manitoba address. A drive by shod the shop isn't even open, voicemail is full at googled number and clothdiapermom hasn't replies to my emails. I have requested my money back fr PayPal and have files a report with the Better Business Bureau, who has already received several similar complaints about this company. Buyer Beware. It is horible to think there is somebody like this out there preying on unsuspecting parents and parents to be like this.
